Hepi Maxwell

Hepi Maxwell is one of most famous Maori master jade and bone carvers in New Zealand and has a strong following worldwide.

His work is often traditional yet has a very distinct flair and style which is instantly recognizable.

Hepi has a passion for the sacred Pounamu and has a way of seeing the flowing forms and curls hidden deep within the stone so his works reflect what he sees and feel in each piece.

Most of his carvings are very sculptural in form with delicate overlapping spirals yet also a sense of strength and power. He is best known for his spectacular sculptures which blend traditional and contemporary styling with the beauty of true Pounamu.

Hepi has had his work published in many books and displayed in galleries and museums throughout the world.
