Nathan Wilson

Haisla Nation

Nathan Wilson was born on July 10, 1986, in Prince Rupert BC. He is of Haisla and British decent.

Nathan has been exposed to First Nations artwork all of his life. His uncles are celebrated Haisla jewelry carvers Barry Wilson and the late Derek Wilson. In 1999, Nathan had the privilege of learning from Kwakwaka'wakw artist Alfred Robertson. This experience sparked a serious interest in carving. Since then, he has worked with Native artists Troy Bellerose, Mike Epp and John Wilson.

Currently, Nathan is enrolled at the Freda Diesling School of Northwest Coast Art. His goal is to further understand the artform, so that he may expand his skills and work with large sculptural carving and fine jewelry pieces.
