Lucassie Etungat was born April 15, 1951 in Pangnirtung, but has lived in Iqaluit and Cape Dorset.  Lucassie's adopted parents, Abraham and Itigayaqyuaq Etungat, as well as step-sister, Iqaluk and step-brother, Ishuhungituk are all soapstone carvers in Cape Dorset.
