Cedric Bolton was born June 21st, 1961 in Kitimaat, British Columbia, Canada. He is a member of the Haisla nation, whose traditional territory includes locations at the head of the Douglas Channel and Kitamaat Village. Cedric takes the Eagle and Beaver, two important symbols, as his family crests.
Throughout the ten-year period that Cedric has been making native artwork, he has specialized in drum-making, original painting and print work. He has been taught to make drums by Joe Bolton, his brother. Artis's Derek and Barry Wilson, also of the Haisla Nation, have greatly influenced Cedric. Derek and Barry Wilson specialize in jewelry design.
Cedric is a versatile artist who not only makes drums, but paints on canvas and produced various limited edition prints. He is one of many First Nation Artists who are working hard to preserve the traditions of their culture.
